Thank you! We have had the most lovely week, helped by superb weather and extremely comfortable accommodation. Proximity to The Rising Sun is a definite advantage for finding your way home! And “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” provided hours of entertainment!! We hope to be back very soon, yet again.

17 April 2004    S. Family   London

We were delighted by the house, villages and views. Having arrived in the dark, the sea view in the morning was a great surprise!! A perfect stay for our friend’s wedding at the Fort. Thank you.

31 May 2004  The crew from Biggleswade   Bedfordshire

We had a fantastic time in this great house. Location to The Rising Sun proved very popular with the five blokes in our party!! Actually all the pubs came in very handy! Great location. Great wedding at the Fort. Great company. What more makes a great holiday. Thanks so much.

18 July 2004   Various Lincolnshire and London

We have been to Cornwall many times but this has been the best holiday ever! The house and location were perfect – even the weather was fantastic. All the pubs were spot on (except for the miserable hairy guy who runs The Devonport. Wouldn’t hurt him to go and let his hair down a bit!!!!) The games and videos came in very handy for the children, so much as they don’t want to go home. Hope to return soon. Many thanks.

1 August 2004  L. Family Crouch End, London

Thank you for a fantastic house and holiday! It was amazing to wake up and see the sea! The house has everything you need and is very well situated. The beaches kept us busy every day – especially Freathy and Port Wrinkle. Thank you!

23 August 2004    B. Family Southsea, Hants

A fabulous house with great views in a glorious village. Plenty of fun had by all and plenty of room to do it! Thank you very much indeed. A truly charming house which accommodated all our needs. A splendid weekend was had by all. Ta very much from the Wedding Party.

20 August 2004 N. Family Devon

House nice but parking awful. Cornish people OK but had a nice time. Would come again. Man in shop excellent!!!

20 December 2004

Nice ironing board – shame about the iron. Nice house – shame about the guests! Thank you for everything. Mental pain will ease with time. Been lovely.

20 March 2005  Friends! Worcestershire

Who cares about the iron – we’re on holiday! Great walks, great wine, great food, but make sure you actually go to the pub that you booked your table at! Can recommend The Cross Keys Scallops. This house is perfect. We are definitely coming back!

3 April 2005  H.&T. Families  Gloucestershire & Kent

Had a fab week, will be back to explore more in the future.

26 May 2005 H.R.&K. Families Kent, Surrey, Gloucestershire

We came for a Wedding to join S & A.  The weather was super for their special day.  We filled the house with fun and laughter.  Good food and drink and trips thereafter. A fishing trip the chaps did make. But not a fish leapt to their bait. So off to the trout farm we did go. Where catching the fish was a lot less slow. After the gutting and bloody mess. A washing machine would have been a bless(ing) ! Never the less we loved Algoma’s bricks and mortar.
And will return come hell or high water?

2 June 2005     J. Family Wiltshire, Bath and Boston. USA.

We’ve had a lovely time in this beautiful house. Even the weather improved every time we went out! We couldn’t have a found anywhere better for a family wedding.

12 June 2005 Several families Leeds, Coventry, Rugby.

A brilliant house for preparing for the Wedding – the dining room table was put to good use in making table decorations, orders of service etc. A wonderful peaceful home with space to both socialise and get away from it all!  From the bride and groom – thanks a lot. Our friends and relatives enjoyed it as well. It’s also handily placed for “The Riser”

17 July 2005  A. Family  Warwickshire

Everything was perfect for our 2nd visit to Algoma, including incredible weather. Good food at Cross Keys, and The Rising Sun offered home delivery service for supper on our last night! Wonderful. Can’t wait for October when we’re back again. And, may I add, the whole family adored being here – especially those of us who used to be householders here!!

6 August 2005   C.&.M. Families  St. Albans, Hertfordshire

The house was perfect – loads of room and very comfortable. We fell in love with Kingsand and the whole area; it is a well-kept secret. Hope it stays that way. We will definitely be back. It would be helpful to have a “Private Parking” sign outside, as a couple of times we had a problem with someone parking in our space. Just to add…we had a lovely time, especially with our grandchildren – weather was spectacular all week.

20 August 2005 C.&G. Families Devon

A great house for our large family. (The best of the 3 we have rented in Kingsand/Cawsand). We found and used the washing machine and tumble dryer (not much as the weather was mostly OK). Another front door key would be useful, but we still managed to enjoy ourselves with two!

5 September 2005  S. Familiy    Cheam

We have had a really lovely time. The beds are really comfy. We had a wonderful time and we would like to come back soon!!

24 October 2005  S. Family children!  Sevenoaks, Kent
I love this house – it’s really homely. I am staying with 4 other kids and one toddler called Ella. I love the way everything is set out so nicely! I really hope we come back next time!I:

I love the house and the fact that it is so near the beach. The pub is very convenient for our Dads. Me and F. love the hill – it’s great for our trainers with wheels. Ella (who is two years old) persuaded us to watch “101 Dalmatians” at least 732 times! We loved our stay and went swimming at 9am. Hope to come again!!

12 December 2005  N. & S.

Really lovely! Thank you very much! Just a small thing but is it possible to leave the telephone number somewhere so that people can call us, as mobile phone signals are not good. Other than that – absolutely fabulous!

31st March 2006  C. Family  Basingstoke

First week of Easter school holidays, our third visit to Cawsand but first to this house, clearly the best so far, so thank you!! The weather has been superb, very sunny with clear blue skies. Beautiful coastal walk, Edgcombe Park glorious yesterday. Lots of “chilling out” outside Devonport Inn with G&T in hand watching the world go by. This is a lovely home.

22 April 2006   B.&W. Families  Leamington Spa & Malvern

A great place to stay for our family holiday. The house is spacious and very well equipped. This is a part of Cornwall that none of us had visited before and we loved Kingsand/Cawsand. Many thanks.

3 June 2006   Various children of the P.&C. Families  Oxfordshire and Devon

A very nice and spacious house in a lovely setting.

It’s a lovely house and it’s got a brilliant view. I love it here and I don’t really want to go!

Nice house, amazing views, lovely beaches. Thanks.

A lovely big house in a very nice neighbourhood. The views are fantastic! I love the beaches too! Thanks a lot.

Beautiful house, stunning views. We to’d and fro’d from Devon farm to seaside. Weather getting better and better – seems a pity to go home! Great place for all the family.

We had a wonderful time in a house that could accommodate us all with ease. Thank you so much!

Lovely accommodation – full of character. Beware the yellow peril!

Family week much enjoyed by all in a lovely, well equipped home. Thank you.

11 June 2006  H. Family  Wimbledon

What a wonderful week-end! A beautiful happy Wedding – great weather. Thank you to Kingsand for your hospitality and kindness. Such a beautiful part of the world, so unspoilt and tranquil. Hope we can come back soon.

1 July 2006 W. Family

The accommodation is the cherry on top. We know Kingsand/Cawsand as we have stayed here before. We were thrilled with Algoma. Thank you so much, it really made our stay away from the urban jungle extra special. We were very comfortable and happy with Algoma, so if you ever want to give it away – keep us in mind! Many thanks.

15 July 2006 S.&Q. Families  Chippenham & Bicester

Of all the houses we’ve stayed in over the years, this is by far the best. We have had a wonderful two weeks. Thanks you.

We had a great time in Kingsand and the house is fantastic. The house is massive and this is the first house I’ve seen with three floors. I’m having a great time here – thanks a lot.

5 August 2006 B. Family  Epsom & Shrewsbury

Great house, great village and really great body-boarding in Whitsand Bay (park by the Fort/ Military Range).

19 August 2006 L. Family Guildford

It is over 30 years since we first visited Cawsand and Kingsand, when the children were about 6 and 8 years old. Since then we have spent many happy weeks in August and October half terms when we met up with an old school friend and her family. Needless to say as the children grew up they had other ideas for holidays, but we adults still came to enjoy the delights of this area. Now, this year they are all back – the children and their children. What fun it has been to watch the grandchildren enjoying the same simple pleasures their parents enjoyed – rock climbing, investigating rock pools, collecting shells and “jewels”- a new era – we will be back!!

22 August 2006 V.&E. Families
Great family house, wonderful size. Nice comfy beds
16 September 2006  D. Family Fleet, Hants.

A great week enjoyed by all. The peace and quiet, the friendly residents, sunbathing and one evening watching the waves crash against the sea walls either side of The Institute sending spray the height of the clock tower – the shop photos are real. Our pub recommendation: The Cross Keys (previously The Smugglers) in Cawsand Square. Good food, service and company.

23 December 2006 W.&H. Families Warwickshire & Plymouth

Wonderful cottage, lovely setting for Christmas with our family from Warwick and Bovey Tracey. Great house – wish it was mine! I have enjoyed myself immensely and feel set up for the New Year. If only we were here longer. “Happy New Year to you All”. (Bigger Teapot required!!)

6 April 2007   S. Family   Somerset

Thank you very much. The perfect stay and a lovely location to meet up with old friends and family from the area. The house was very comfortable and everything working fine. Patio a lovely morning suntrap. So many things to enjoy about the house. Top bathroom and annex very nicely done. Thank you again and really hope to be able to book again this year if you get a slot. Best wishes.

26 May 2007 C.C.  Berkshire
A great week. House comfortable. Everything you need and lots more!
30 June 2007   M. Family      Leicestershire

A wonderful home where the different generations can disappear, to do their own thing…..   fantastic when there are teenagers and rainy days. A television in each room!! The girls…….and husband have been in their element. It really has been a relaxing week and even more special to be able to share your special home.
Thank you.

23 July 2007 R. Family South Yorkshire

Lovely spacious house. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for re-homing us at such short notice!

4 August 2007 P. Family     Nottingham

The house was lovely, very clean and spacious. We especially liked the farmhouse kitchen table. Great evenings drinking with food served from the pub. Three very satisfied men stayed here after discovering Sky T.V.  Thank you for allowing us to stay here, I am sure we will be back.

11th August 2007   L. Family  Guildford, Walton-on-Thames

Thank you – a wonderful base for a great week. The house and space has been a real treat. Wishing future visitors well.

18th August 2007 S. Family

4th year back in Kingsand for our annual weeks holiday with the family. Love it. Algoma is a lovely house for a family get together.

24 August 2007  Mr S.

My family has been visiting Kingsand for many years, each time with me missing out due to the dull responsibilities of work and humdrum. However, this year, I now enjoy the trappings of self-employment and what an excellent choice I made to take up my parent’s offer. This house is wonderful. I began to relax the moment I arrived. The layout is spacious (although I have bumped my head on the doorframes times too numerous to mention) the house cannot be blamed for my height. The number of bathrooms means no queues in the mornings or evenings. My two nephews loved the fact that they have their own “suite” at the rear of the house, complete with their own flat-screened TV. The peaceful location; its proximity to a great pub, allowing me to enjoy a pint while cooking dinner is a must for any future resident. The views each morning over breakfast; the walks through the village – all very calming – just the ticket! I look forward to a longer stay in the future. Two and a half days is not enough. If I have any negatives to report it would be the scurge of the motorcar. Where can one park one’s car without having to catch a bus to where one left it?

In conclusion:

The house – beautiful and spacious.

The proximity to all you need – excellent.

The comfort of the rooms – excellent.

I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

1 September 2007  C. Family  Devon

Thought the house was great two years ago and think the alterations have made it even better.

8 September 2007 M. Family East Sussex

We have had a wonderful stay in Kingsand. We have had glorious weather and the beaches are great! Would recommend the Cawsand Ferry across to Plymouth. It’s great – just for the boating experience! We have had a great stay here in the house, although the spiral staircase is a slightly scary experience with small children! We look forward to visiting again!!!!

26 October 2007   Children of  the S. Family

This holiday was great! Especially the beaches!! We swam in the sea nearly every day. We found lots of things to do around the house. The house is amazing after the few changes and was very homely. I thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and we will be coming back next year! Thanks! Bye Kingsand!

This home is perfect. At one point we had 13 people living in this house. I like what you have done to the house and I like the baby grand. I like the new telly and the bar. I think you have really done well on adding to the house….and yeah! We went swimming in the sea, sometimes in Whitsand. I really like that beach. We found a starfish in one of the rock pools. I love it here! And we will be back soon!

P.S. My Dad liked the fact that the pub is right across the road!

3 January 2008 L. & R. Families London

Thanks a million. This is a great house. It’s so well equipped and comfortable. We had a great time and will hopefully be back. Please also pass on our thanks to the brilliant staff at The Rising Sun.

25 March 2008 Family  London, Brighton

We know Kingsand very well. Loved the house – comfortable, stylish and such a treat to come back to after a blustery day on the beach. We hope to come back again and again. I liked the Sky TV by S.A. Age 7 I liked the keyboard, it was really jazzy by H.P. Age 8

25 April 2008 P. Family Halifax

We came down for my daughters wedding at Polhawn Fort and have been delighted with the whole area. The accommodation have been superb, house is brilliant and The Rising Sun will even deliver tea if required – what service!

25 April 2008 T. Family Halifax

Algoma is a wonderful house – spacious and clean and suited all our needs. Kingsand/ Cawsand is an area we have not visited before but I’m sure we will be back. We visited The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Helligan, Looe and of course, the Gin Factory in Plymouth. Great time had by all.

25 April 2008 W. Family Halifax

Great place to visit and Algoma is in a delightful position – somewhere we have never discovered before. Hopefully we will return.

3 May 2008 K.S.L. & V. Families  Kidderminster/Birmingham

Beautiful cottage, beautiful location, beautiful weather (mostly!). We loved the big kitchen diner – perfect for a big group. The piano is a novel idea but a little more comfy seating would have been great for lazy evenings. Rame Peninsula walk to the Cliff Top Café is a must (turn off left 50 yards after The View Restaurant). The Edgcumbe Arms was well worth the walk – fantastic food. Locally would recommend The Cross Keys and The Rising Sun.

Thank you – great holiday had by all.

10 May 2008 M.S. & W. Families  Derbyshire & Leeds.

We came down to Kingsand on Saturday for a family wedding at Polhawn Fort. Algoma is a great house, very spacious and in a great location.

Large table also great for communal dining and also for making our fancy dress costumes for the wedding party.

I liked the big Sky telly – M.M. Age 27

I want to stay another week – C.

I liked the piano, can’t play, but the “demo” button is fun!! L.

I liked looking out of the top window and watching crazy people swimming in the cold sea. The coastal walk to Rame Point Head Chapel is also well worth the walk – beautiful views and not very hard. M. Age 23

17th May 2008 W. & T. Families     Nottingham & Aberdeen.

We have had a super stay in this lovely house. Everything was spot on and we have been so comfortable. The weather early in the week was superb – deteriorated towards the end, but we were still able to enjoy this lovely area and hope to be back before too long. Thank you.

18 May 2008 G. Family Kidderminster.

A wonderful and spacious, well equipped house in a superb setting. Had meals delivered from The Rising Sun opposite. A great place for large groups and families. Close to the beach. Nice little café down on the front. Would recommend to anyone.

We all had a fabulous week. Lovely house, all the comforts of home and more! Friendly, pretty village. Unspoilt and peaceful. We came to celebrate my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary and an 8th Birthday and we would all like to return one day. Thank you – we all enjoyed ourselves.

21 June 2008 E.& K. Wedding Party From all over the World!!

Fantastic house – ideal!! Had a fantastic time. Kingsand/Cawsand is a beautiful area, although the sea is very cold!! Ice supply in the freezer came in very useful!!! Would definitely come back again.

5th July 2008  W. Family  South Africa

Such a comfortable holiday home. We have spent the past week exploring the surrounding area – loved the coastal paths either way and the view from Rame. If you love seafood we can recommend a visit to The View restaurant near Whitsand. Lovely quaint village. The Rising Sun pub across the road had a live band on Saturday which was well supported.

From C.W. :

I want to live here! I love it! The view is great! This house is too good. I was on the top floor and it was great! The pub kept us awake but I enjoyed peeking through the curtains and watching everybody. I loved the piano.

2nd August 2008 T. Family Berkshire

A lovely holiday enhanced by the lovely house and all the amenities. Thank you.

16th August 2008  B. Family     Liverpool and Merseyside

Came with all my lovely family to celebrate my 50th Birthday. Wonderful venue. Never stayed so close to a pub before! Enjoyed running, walking, cycling, canoeing, plenty of eating and the odd drink!! Enjoyed meal delivered from The Rising Sun.

Wonderful week in Kingsand/Cawsand celebrating our fantastic 50-year old sister’s birthday. Loads of fun – fabulous treasure hunt on Friday. Wonderful daily ritual of coffee and cake outside the Outlook Café – getting soaked by the waves. My mobile hasn’t recovered.

Fantastic atmosphere in house- would love to return!!

23 August 2008 P. Family  England & Germany

LOVED the house and village – lovely pubs and beaches. Great bar and piano, good kitchen facilities – we managed to have a “fairy cake-off”. We used the boulle set provided, the SKY was well used, the second living room was great, comfortable sofa in main living room and pillows, good that bedding and towels were provided. Rising Sun’s proximity to the house was great – ordered meals which were delivered, went to the pub quiz at The Devonport – ALL GREAT.

A great week had by all – would love to come again – is it available for New Year?!

6th September 2008  L. Family  London & Colchester
